What is a slingshot?
A slingshot is a 3-wheeled vehicle made by Polaris. Its features include a tilt-adjustable steering wheel, side-by-side bucket seats, and does not lean. It has no roof, doors, or side windows and the entire interior is waterproof so it can be hosed down and drained out using drain holes in the floor.
While three-wheelers are already a niche market, this vehicle is completely different and fits in between a vehicle and motorcycle, requiring special coverage to ensure safety.

Frequently asked questions
Your questions, asked and answered by our team.
To drive a 3-wheel T-Rex, or Slingshot-type vehicle, you must hold a valid Class 5 license. A motorcycle license is not necessary.
The Polaris slingshot does not contain airbags nor a crumple zone, and in certain jurisdictions the driver and passenger must wear motorcycle helmets.
Since Slingshots are legal to drive in the streets like cars, they also require the right coverage. This is similar to auto insurance in that every company will provide different rates for this type of recreational vehicle, and only a G license is required.
